This car has been my baby for quite awhile now, and I hate to have to get rid of her, but I need a better commuter car for going long distances. Sure, this lil bug is up for the drive, but she's just too pretty to ruin that way. When I got this car, it was just an empty shell. I built it from the ground up, essentially, with the aid of my dad. He has rebuild / restored a couple of these in the past, so he has the knowhow to make things go by smoothly and quickly. There is actually very minimal rust left, all the panels that were rusted, we replaced. We really tried to go the extra mile with our "Garage Restoration". A list of some of the things we did: Custom paint, in both the colors as well as the design. Installed after-market windshield washer fluid basin and sprayer. Upgraded headlights, that have a blue ring around the outside, controlled by a switch inside on the dash, that when flipped the other way, allows lamps to light up the floorboard. Neat little "eyelid" covers for the headlights, Seats from a newer car, that are far more comfortable than even the new replacement seats they make for this car, Carpet kit for the trunk, Aftermarket center console, with a cupholder. Quick-Disassemble for the engine compartment (for those cases if you ever should need to remove the engine) We also spent the extra time to fully line the inside with better insulation. We put down a layer of "Quick-Roof", to help keep moisture out, and hold the heat in a little better. and On top of that, we put down 3/4 inch carpet padding, That works great for deadening the sounds of the car, and holds in the heat great. We did take the rear seat out, as I have no intention of ever needing it, Though we did leave in the seatbelts. To cover the open space left from the missing rear seat cushion, we built a carpeted, wooden "lid" that fits neatly in place, and is easy to remove when you need to access the battery. Aftermarket seal for the trunk that prevents leaking. Aftermarket engine (xxxxcc) that has approximately 10,000 miles on it. I'm sure I am forgetting some additional goodies, but covered the basics. Now the cool part, The silver cylinder sticking out of the passenger window is actually a xxxx's "Allstate" car cooler. Yep! a car cooler! There were several companies that produced these briefly through the 40's and 50's, and of the ones I researched, Allstate is of the lesser common to find. It really does work, and works great. It's a head-turner piece, for a head-turner car. If you are seriously interested and would like to come look at it, or would like more pictures, Please feel free to call or text me @ 435-650-xxxx. I am open to consideration of partial trades as well. I am specifically looking for the Saturn SL / SL1 / SL2 between xxxx and xxxx, With no more than 160,000 miles, Must be mechanically sound, and a Manual transmission preferred.
